Description
Chichibu Angels – Calvados Pays d’Auge by Christian Drouin
Embark on a transcendent tasting journey with Chichibu Angels, a distinguished expression from Christian Drouin’s Experimental range. This limited-edition Calvados marries the heritage of Normandy’s apple brandy with the finesse of Japanese whisky craftsmanship.
Crafted from 12-year-old Calvados Pays d’Auge, this spirit undergoes a unique finishing period of 4 to 10 months in five ex-Chichibu Japanese single malt casks. The result is a harmonious blend that showcases the delicate balance between the rich, fruity character of Calvados and the subtle, refined notes imparted by the Japanese oak.
Tasting Notes:
- Appearance: Radiant gold.
- Nose: Inviting aromas of roasted apple and quince jam evolve into nuances of precious wood and powdery cereals.
- Palate: An intense and chiseled profile reveals flavors of barley husk, apple skin, and a hint of citrus, culminating in a balanced and elegant finish.
With an ABV of 45.3% and presented in a 70cl bottle, Chichibu Angels is a testament to Christian Drouin’s commitment to innovation and excellence in Calvados production.
