Springbank distillery has revived a nostalgic expression from its past with the launch of the 5-Year-Old 100 Proof, now a vibrant member of the core range. Bottled at a gutsy 57.1% ABV and fully matured in bourbon casks, this whisky captures Campbeltown’s maritime charm while embracing contemporary drinkers.

The nose is fresh and effervescent with green apples, gorse flower, wine gums, and a chalky mineral lift. On the palate, sweet notes of icing sugar and white chocolate meet subtle peat warmth and intriguing botanical accents like tomato plant and linseed oil. The finish is both gentle and long, weaving in honey and gooseberry notes with graceful restraint.

This series is characterized by its 57.1% ABV (100 proof), non-chill-filtration, natural color, and a focus on quality cask selection from Speyside distilleries.

  • Benrinnes 2012 (13yo) – First-fill oloroso sherry butts. Deeply sherried profile with notes of fig, chocolate, and cracked pepper.
  • Mannochmore 2014 (11yo) – A mix of PX quarter casks and bourbon hogsheads. Combines dried fruit and citrus spice with orchard freshness.
  • Miltonduff 2011 (12yo) – Fully matured in first-fill oloroso butts. Rich in raisin, espresso, dark chocolate, and warming oak.
