Description
A milestone expression from Ardnamurchan Distillery, the 2025 10-year-old release marks the start of its first regular age-statement single malt series. It is a thoughtful blend of 52 % unpeated and 48 % peated spirit, matured mostly in ex-bourbon barrels (? 95-98 %) with a small finishing portion in ex-sherry hogsheads (? 2-5 %). The whisky is bottled at 46.8 % ABV, non-chill filtered, and in natural colour — delivering a well-balanced Highland single malt that captures both sweetness and maritime smoke.
Tasting Notes
- Nose: Creamy and inviting — notes of coconut, oat biscuits, and zesty orange peel open first, evolving into salty sea air, autumn leaves, soft bonfire smoke, with subtle layers of strawberry-sweet confection and a hint of mint.
- Palate: Rich and silky — vanilla wafers, custard-cream sweetness and briny salinity give way to gentle earthy smoke and a soft coastal tang, delivering a harmonious balance of sweet, salty and smoky elements.
Finish: Long, warm and maritime — soft smoke lingers alongside gentle saline notes and a touch of vanilla sweetness, leaving a comforting, smoky coastal warmth.
Profile summary:
A versatile and characterful Highland malt, combining creamy sweetness, maritime salinity, and gentle peat smoke — ideal for those who appreciate balanced, coastal-style single malts.
