Description
This is an Islay single malt whisky from Laphroaig, distilled in 2014 and bottled in April 2025 by Single Malts of Scotland (Elixir Distillers) as a single cask release. Matured for 11 years in a refill hogshead (cask #211), it is bottled at cask strength (64.9% ABV), unchill filtered, and with natural colour. Only 338 bottles were drawn.
Tasting Notes
- Nose: Yellow plum, gooseberry, toasted oats, cedar wood, and fresh scorched pine needles.
- Palate: Intense smoke and savoury spice, charred yellow peppers, cigar smoke, and a bright lift of fresh lemon citrus.
- Finish: Long and refined, with lingering warmth and echoes of the embers of a well-fired sherry cask.
